Planting & Hay Season
Life on the ranch is a dynamic mix, changing with the seasons and always buzzing with activity. The tasks shift as the weather changes, and there’s never a dull moment. Everyone pitches in to help.
Everything we do starts here. From every field and to every stone, the legendary XIT ranch is the soul of our operation. A spirit that has connect us for over 140 years.
Born here
Born on our native Texas prairie, not trucked in, not sourced. The same ground it will spend its entire life on. That traceability starts at birth.
Raised here
Our cattle graze native grasses and are fed organic feed we grow ourselves on certified land. Low stress, every day. No shortcuts, no outside sourcing.
Finished here
Finished on our own organic feed — never shipped to a commercial feedlot. That's what makes the beef taste clean and consistent every single time.
We grow the organic feed for our cattle on our ranch. There are no shortcuts in the process. We keep our prairie strong by finishing our herds on homegrown feed that we can trace and we know is 100% organic. You can taste the difference.

In planting and hay season, you will see tractors working the farm circles, hay getting baled, and corn just starting to come up. The farming side stays busy all year, plowing, planting, and harvesting the organic feed our cattle depend on.
On the cattle side it might be calving, branding, or weaning, and most mornings start horseback checking the herd. Come round up, cowboys gather cows and calves the way it has been done for generations, handled the lowest stress way we can. Neighbors ride over to help, and it turns into family and community getting it done together.
